"Tutor", "curador" or "representante" as possible equivalents of the Polish legal term "kurator"

Abstract

This article provides an analysis of the Polish term kurator. After a review of the terminological polysemy in the legal language, it examines in depth the meanings of this word and its various uses, particularly in the legal context (for example kurator sądowy, kurator spadku, kurator osoby niepełnosprawnej). A significant part of the article is devoted to identifying equivalents of the term in the Spanish legal system and to comparing the functions of the Polish kurator with Spanish legal figures such as curador, tutor, administrador judicial and representante legal, taking into account the modifications made to the Spanish civil code in 2021. The aim of the article is to provide a comprehensive overview of the meanings of this legal term, its equivalents in Spanish, and the importance of the context for its correct interpretation.
